Indeed, the Standard Edition is free of charge and comes with an open license.  You can log an unlimited number of flights and the software does not expire with time !

Standard Edition users have free access to all future software updates. There is no obligation to purchase a PRO or ENT user license to receive updates.

Are logbooks printed from mccPILOTLOG accepted by the Authorities ?

Each individual state decides about the format how pilots have to record their flying experience.

Some aviation authorities require pilots to use the state's official publication. Most authorities also accept other binded logbook formats, such as publications from Jeppesen and ASA. Only a few authorities allow pilots to print their flying experience in a loose-leaf logbook, or as digital file.

That's why  mccPILOTLOG  offers various solutions :

1- you can print any of the pre-coded official State logbook formats. If your country is not listed, contact the Help Desk to have it added (free service).

2- you can print your logbook in one of the private formats, such as Jeppesen, Transair, ASA, and others. As mentioned before,  mccPILOTLOG  does not intend to reproduce any of these copyright protected formats - You need to buy the logbook and use our software only to print self-adhesive labels !

3- export your flight hours from  mccPILOTLOG  straight to LOGBOOK Inc and receive your personalized luxury binded logbook in the mail.

4- if your authority accepts loose-leaf printed logbooks, you can print your logbook straight from  mccPILOTLOG

5- if your authority accepts electronic logbooks, you can create your PDF logbook from  mccPILOTLOG , including your handwritten signature.

How do I log instructor signatures ?

One of the limitations of an electronic logbook is the instructor's signature.  mccPILOTLOG  offers different solutions to deal with this ;

The easiest solution, but not the most practicle, is to print your logbook the day you go to the simulator and have the examiner sign-off the record itself. Use the Next page option to have the next flight printed on the next page of your logbook.
However, if you have a lot of signatures, such as during initial training or command-upgrade, you end up with a lot of half-empty pages.

Therefore, mccPILOTLOG  has created the Endorsements page. The Endorsements page automatically fits your logbook size. Print the Endorsements page and paste it at the end of your paper logbook. Have the instructors sign-off that page.
When you log your flight, enter the reference number, where the instructor has signed, into the the Sign box of the flight or simulator record. When you print your logbook some time later, the number appears in the Remarks column. (click picture)

Other solutions include digital signature by reading the instructor's electronic ID card or have the instructor sign-off through the touch-screen of your mobile. These solutions can be included on request.

Where can I buy label sheets to print my logbook ?

You can purchase self-adhsive labels from most Office Supply stores. Google for ' 1 label per sheet ' or ' 2 labels per sheet ' to find a nearby shop.

We can also supply you with these labels (15 EURO for 100 sheets + shipping costs), but unfortunately in most cases, the shipping cost exceeds the value of the labels... Contact the Help Desk to order.

Can I import my database from another logbook software ?

mccPILOTLOG  comes with a powerful wizard that imports data from several other logbook software applications. The wizard is available in all editions of  mccPILOTLOG , including the free Standard edition.

Flight records from the following programs can be imported with a single mouse-click :

Mentor Flitelog  -  Safelog  -  Stratosoft  -  NC Logbook Pro  -  Skymark Aloft  -  Skylog Pro  -  Pilotlog.co.uk  -  Mikelsoft Crewlog  -  eLog ccpcentral  -  Aviator eLogbook  -  Pilots Pal  -  Log Ten Pro  -  Rosterlog

Can I contact the Help Desk for support as a free Standard User ?

We take pride in delivering an excellent service to all pilots using  mccPILOTLOG  logbook software, whether you are a free, PRO or ENT user.

So, if you need support, contact the Help Desk anytime ! All questions, comments and bug reports are very much appreciated and are all taken into account for continuously updating our software.

How do I update my software ?

mccPILOTLOG  does NOT run any resident background process to check for new updates.

The software itself searches for new updates a few seconds after you launch the application.  New updates are automatically downloaded, unless you have disabled the automatic download feature.

New updates automatically self-install at the next start of the application. You do not need to reboot your computer.

How do I transfer mccPILOTLOG to another computer ?

Follow the guidelines as described on the Install Errors page - section 'Other'.

Your PRO or ENT user license key is linked to your name, not to your computer. So, you can enter your license key on the new computer.

Can I install mccPILOTLOG on two computers at the same time ?

If both computers are connected through a local network, you can run the application simultaneously from both computers on a single database. You first need to install the software on both computers separately and then move the software on a common network drive.

If your question is about using the PC-at-home and the laptop-at-hotel, you can move your database from one PC to the other with the Enterprise Edition.  A more powerful PC-to-PC sync tool will be available later this year.

Your license key is linked to your name, not to your computer. So, you can use the license key on an unlimited number of computers.

Caution : if you use the Mobile app, you should always sync the mobile with the same database !
